I feel like it is the luck of the draw with this place. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes it just is not. This time I went no one waited on us until about 10 minutes into being there.. The food took forever and it wasn't that good.

So one of my co workers treated me out for lunch and I chose to come here since I've never been before. The food was meh. I had the house burger with some fries which was about 16$. I'm so glad that I didn't have to pay because 16$ for a meh burger is ridiculous. I cook burgers in my microwave that are way better than this place. My favorite burger place currently is 80/20 burger which makes cheeseburger in paradise look like a joke. PS- They love stuffing your burgers with pickles which is really weird

I haven't been to cheeseburger in paradise for over two years. We used to come all the time so I thought I'd come back and see if it was any better. Wow. We had a very impatient waitress who seemed to prefer talking in the back than helping us out. Anyway hubs ordered ribs and couldn't get any more napkins. I had to steal them from another table. No pickles on my Cuban sandwich -- kind of disappointing. Had to ask a manager for mustard and he sent the surly waitress with it and she kind of glared at me. I had asked for it earlier but she left. Anyway. The beer was cold. Won't be back for a few more years. The Cubans are better at Smoky Bones.

This place surprised me. The food was good especially the the fried pickles! I had the jerk salmon tasty if you add the curry coconut sauce on the side it bring out the flavor of the jerk. The wings were also great. Mango sauce nice! The bill wasn't high at all for four people. The food isn't a big wow but it is tasty. Oh how I must not forget them big ass burgers! They look good too! My kids loved it.

The cooks DO NOT know how to cook a burger to order. It took 3 tries just to get a medium patty and the manager claimed to have cooked the last 2 ....They claim to be hand formed patties, they are not. Service is slow at best, I watched 1 1/2 hours go by after I began to wonder if the service was slow.... I went into this location several years ago. The experience was so bad I haven't been back until week before last. I was being taken soooo, I went on a weekday with a friend. We had a good waitress. This however, may not be her norm as we were one of only 5 tables during the 'lunch rush'. We went back 10 days later and had the above described experience. They will have to pay me to eat there again. 6.23.15

Not a fan. I took my roommate here because he didn't know that it even existed. I told him about previous experiences there being terrible but I figured I'd show him anyways. Please understand that it wasn't the waitresses fault for my bad experience, it's the cooks. We finally were able to order drinks after sitting patiently for ten minutes. Once we ordered, it happened. I ordered the Pineapple Express and my roomie had the Hurricane Wings. The waitress explained that the cooks were having issues with the wings and brought us chips and dips for free. 50 minutes later, we get our food. My sandwich is dry and boring. Actually looked like it was sitting in the refrigerator for a week and lacked flavor. My roomies wings were huge and we were initially impressed. When he bit into his third wing he looked at me and asked "is this normal?". The inside was pink... very pink and almost bloody. I told him that we need to send it back. And we did. They offered us another item from the menu but we gave up. In the end, the waitress apologized for the cooks and took his meal off the tab. I left her a hefty tip because I knew her night had to be terrible. I'll never go back. Strike 3, they're out.

Wherever I go, is there a cheeseburger in paradise? in this town, there is. I can tell you this that this restaurant location, changed my mind in what I think of this franchise. I feel this time there is cheese (the edible one and not the rotten one) in every paradise. I like cheese but not the burger. If this statement does not say a lot, let me explain. Everywhere you go, you will find some good and bad. The good thing about the bad one is that you accept it and you will improve it. I think this Cheeseburger in Paradise improved my impression of the burger in the cheese. What I really mean to say is the food was cooked with the same franchised but it was differently delicious.

I haven't been to CiP in a few years and I'm glad I went back. Lunch was awesome ($6 burger) and came out quickly and as ordered. I tried the Midnight Run drink and it was delicious. It was an odd combination of ingredients (lemonade, Fireball whiskey, and cherry moonshine) , but they worked well together. A special thanks to our waitress Heaven. There were 5 of us on separate checks and she tracked the various orders perfectly. She was friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted/needed to make the lunch a positive experience. I will definitely be back...

I have driven past this place for many years and one of the main reasons for me not choosing the stop there was because I thought that it was very 'cheesy' looking from the outside. One of my girlfriends wanted to have an early dinner there and grab drinks as well and lets just say that to my surprise I absolutely enjoyed this location. They had the best Mojitos ever and the fried avocado was Bomb! I will definitely return on Monday's to try their $1.99 Margaritas.

I have visited several CIP locations across the country and this one is on par with the others. I always order the fried pickles for my app, the CIP burger for my entree, and the chocolate nachos for dessert and I have always loved every bite of it all! They have always been very accommodating if I wanted to take my chocolate nachos home with me. Service is always great even when busy. I will continue to frequent this place!

I'll be honest, I am not even a Jimmy Buffett fan, lol... But I decided to try this restaurant for the first time in Jul, 2014. I like to give every restaurant in town a try at least once. :-) - My son was with me, and he described his burger as one of the best he had ever had. Food was cooked to order accurately, and came out to the table quickly. The manager was very kind + engaged, and the server we had was top-notch as well. (I grabbed a business card as I do from every new restaurant I try, Kenon was the mgr on duty, and was awesome!) The server was a mind-reader on the drink refills and prompt with the check near the end of the meal, always a plus. Very kind staff, very quick service, very tasty food!

Tonight was my first time coming to cheeseburger in paradise ..loved it! Love the atmosphere...very beachy. It's spacious and very nice decorated. Good music. Great drinks. They have a huge selection of alcoholic beverages I got the piña colada and my boyfriend for the mango piña colada..delicious!!! The food was amazing as well. I got the Baja veggie burger...very good. The French fries are thin and spiced. Yummy. So this place is great for vegetarians. Make sure you try the chocolate nachos!!! So good. Decent prices. Nothing ridiculous. I def recommend. Great restaurant for any one...family or friends.

I've been coming to this location for years and will continue to do so. There are several reason why I like Cheeseburger in Paradise. One. The food is delicious. Unfortunately, I am one of those people that continues to get the same thing everytime if it's good. But here I have gone out of my way to try something different because all of the food looks so "yummy". Last night I had the Three Little Pigs burger, a bacon and apple hickory sausage infused patty, topped with BBQ pulled pork and bacon with sweet potato fries on the side. That burger was "Smack Yo Mama" good!! in previous visits I've tried every flavor of their wings, which are delicous, the mushroom and swiss burger and their Friday Night All You Can Eat Fish and Chips special. Two. The staff is very friendly and helpful. In every visit, even when I'm with a large group, my order is always right, the food comes out in an adequate amount of time, the servers help each other and take care of you as if you are their table, managers are actually visible and from time to time even do the "table tap" and they can accommodate large groups. Third. The atmosphere is pretty cool. Now this may be hit or miss for some, but the restaurant has a paradise/beach theme that is flooded with bamboo, palm trees, flamingos and other beach related items. Under conversation you can hear Jimmy Buffet and other island type music. I think it is a pretty cool and relaxing atmosphere that puts you in "chill" mood. So if you are in the area stop by and enjoy yourself a little bit of paradise and a good meal in the meantime.

I've been to this restaurant a few times in the past, and I have never been disappointed. I've tried the sliders, the Baja burger, and the guacamole bacon burger which I consider to be all my favorite burgers. I tend to only get turkey burgers now, and I love that they have that option in addition to veggie burgers on their menu. I like how they have sweet potato fries which you can exchange for regular French fries. The service has always been pleasant for me. There was one time where my burger took a little longer to prepare, so my waiter gave me my sweet potato fries a few minutes earlier to munch on while waiting for my burger, which was only a few minutes later. There is a wide variety of options on their drink menu, and my personal favorite was the piña colada. It is very smooth and creamy with only a little hint of alcohol. For dessert, my personal favorite is he chocolate nachos which combines sweet and salty all in one. This restaurant is definitely one of my faves to go when craving a burger.

Excellent service! I came here with 31 of my friends (20 adults and 11 children). Needless to say our orders took quite some time, and they continued to bring us appetizers until all of our orders came out! I was surprised that they were all correct! They created their own system to ensure our bill was correct with the children on the correct bill! Truly amazing!

Some of the best food around. The service could use an attitude adjustment sometimes but you get over it. Love the burgers beyond all reason and the fricles are always a favorite appetizer. Drink selection can't be beat. Love coming back here!

While a GREAT burger, the place could use a good cleaning! Popped in here on. Memorial day for a burger and beer, the beer was cold and the Bacon Cheeseburger spot on if you haven't tried the Frickles (fried pickles) they are a must and available as a side, service was good as always thats the good. The bad or the so so. When you feel the need to use hand sanitizer upon leaving not a good thing the table was sticky or the finish worn so it felt sticky and it would not clean like a smokers house coated in Nicotine, the walls and all and i know its supposed to look rustic but this just looked older and rusted if your not gonna paint it then at least wipe it down, and for a tossed in pet peeve check the bathrooms rustic does not fly in that room.

I am a big fan of Cheeseburger in Paradise - both locations are excellent (Oyster Point and Lynnhaven) but I am partial to Lynnhaven because I work at Lynnhaven alot. Now I know that this may sound strange, but as much as I absolutely LOVE red meat, I have never had a cheeseburger here - I come STRICTLY FOR THE WINGSSSSSSSSSSS. I love love love their wings. I simply can't bring myself to get anything different. I get the Jerk, the Dragon and the traditional Buffalo. Service has always been excellent - never had the slightest of problems with anything. I'll be back soon!

I decided to go to cheeseburger in paradise on Wednesday after a long day at work. I needed some cheering up so I figured I would go to the place where I can escape my problems and go to paradise. After I was sat, my waitress, Heaven immediately greeted me with a big smile on her face. We talked for a bit and she convinced me to try the frickles and I was not disappointed !! I ordered the aloha burger and it was phenomenal, it was cooked exactly how I ordered it (medium) and it was just the right size. And the French fries were the best. Overall, Heaven was very attentive to my every need and made me laugh after a bad day. I give this location 5 stars because everything about it was great from the food, to the waitstaff, to the environment. I'm definitely coming back for more and I highly recommend it to everybody.

Service was slow even though the place wasn't busy which should have been a hint; not busy on a Friday night is not a good sign. We started with a crab cake appetizer. It took a long time to get to us. I had the grilled salmon which was warm at best. The shrimp I got with it were way too salty.

How can u be a burger restaurant, and ur burgers are nasty? I've never been unable to finish a burger in my life, until I came to this place smh. What a waste of money!

Came here on a Friday night and only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Service wasn't spectacular but I've had worse. Tried their fried pickles and they were just ok. I'm rather obsessed with the fried pickles from Buffalo Wild Wings and they just didn't come close at Cheeseburger in Paradise. However, my burger was great! I've recently become a fan of burgers with a fried egg on them. While I enjoyed it here, it wasn't as good as the one from Pop's Diner. The burgers here are HUGE! No one in our group was able to finish theirs. My husband got a burger that had a beef patty topped with pulled pork and a bunch of other craziness. It was just too much! We had been talking about trying this place for a while and I'm glad we did. It was an overall enjoyable experience but I doubt we'll become regulars.

They changed management many times in the past couple of years, and I'll admit it was touch and go for a while. But they are back to having great food and great service. They have gluten free buns for the burgers, and also the fries are gluten free. Both are fantastic. I would recommend the hickory cheddar burger.

First time here and I have to say they have a nice size menu. With a good variety of food from salads to sea food. Not to mention daily deals and alcohol beverage deals too. Monday had mini burgers for $6.99 and $1.99 Margarita's. I will come back and probably try their shrimp Po'boy sand which.

Eh, this place was okay. Got a burger on the lunch menus. Was not please. The bun stuck out from the party a good inch. Fries were so amazing though. Staff was nice. Atmosphere felt pretty cheesy and corny. But overall it was ok, not dying to go back. It's def not red robin or Johnny Rockets.

"Cheeseburger in Paradise"?! It felt like I was eating in one of the seven circles of Hades. The food here is horrible and the only reason nobody cares about the horrible food is, they're too drunk off of their ridiculously huge, fruity drinks to care about the quality of their meal. There are plenty of other fine establishments to eat at around Lynnhaven Mall. Cheeseburger in Paradise is another example of a musician failing big time in the food industry (I'm looking your way, Kenny Rogers).

Really wanted a burger. Seemed like just the place! Overall a good time! The service was fantastic, beer was cold and tall, and they call them French fried potatoes. "Cheeseburger in Paradise" even played in the background.

I will say this was quite possibly the worst dinner we have ever had. Our evening started with a WONDERFUL host staff, saramah... I think...was so helpful. We immediately felt welcome. Ordered a quick pina from the bar!! Yummmyyy! And this is when our visit took a turn for the worst....Our server, heaven...greeted us promptly. Took our drink order and appetizer order and left for a few. She then came back about 15 minutes later for our burger order.....This is when she disappeared for 20 minutes...she didn't bring our food...another waitress did. Which came up the exact time our appetizer did. I then asked our favorite hostess.. (named above).. If the manager could take off the appetizer due to the fact our food had already came out. She smiled and was very polite and indeed spoke to the manager. It was taken off the bill, but we never saw the manager. Our burgers were not cooked to correct temperatures....and my "baja" burger was HORRIBLE. The kitchen was so lazy the pineapple and onions I asked to NOT have on my burger were sliding off the side. I asked for mine well done, and it was pink in the center?! ....and after asking to speak the the manager we waited 15 minutes without one coming to the table. I then ordered a second pinacolada....which took 15 minutes to get to the table?! It was melted on top and had been sitting at the bar for quite some time before our waitress brought it over. She then brought me incorrect change...owed me 81 cents...and disappeared for the remainder of our time. We would return only for the pleasant bar and host staff, but not for the servers or management..This place has gone down hill server and management wise. Giving it a 1 star is genegerous. To have this many issues and the manager not approaching my table was terrible hospitality. I work in the food industry, and wasting my money for my first night off in a week was the worst idea I've ever had.

I've been here probably around 5 times since I moved to Virginia Beach in 2007. I've never particularly loved this place, but I haven't hated it either. The last time I visited was terrible and I don't know if I will ever go back, or, if I do, it's going to be a loooooong time. It took us quite a while to get our drinks but once our server finally came to the table things seemed to start going more smoothly. We ordered the fried pickles and they seemed more greasy than I remembered so I didn't eat very many of them. When the entrees came out my Coasta Rican Steak alad was pretty decent although my husband commented that the lettuce looked old and wilted but my husband's burger wasn't cooked how he ordered it AND it was missing half of the items it was supposed to have on it from the menu. He ordered the BBQ Cheddar Burger that is supposed to have lettuce, pickles, cheese, BBQ sauce and caramelized onions. It came out with a small blob of BBQ sauce on the bun, like two little pieces of shredded lettuce (which is basically none) and no pickles and no onion straws. When he complained to them about it they took the plate and left for about 10 minutes to recook it. It came out this time with the items needed on it after he took a menu and showed our server. I was almost completely finished eating by this point. At no time did a manager come over and apologize and when the check came the burger was not comped. My husband ate less than half of it and didn't even eat the fries because it took so long for the burger to come out the second time. My husband is a kitchen manager at another restaurant and was very disappointed. He said any time the food is messed up through no fault of the customer and also when they have to wait for it to be re-cooked he always comps those meals because those customers will be more likely to come back again. We aren't trying to get anything for free but - when you pay good money for non-good food, you'll choose to go elsewhere... As I said earlier, we won't be going back any time soon.

My husband and I had stopped in for dinner last night with our daughter we were immediately surprised on how busy it was, but nonetheless the hostsess greeted us and guided us to a booth next to the bar. We were then greeted promptly by our waitress Katrina, she was very sweet and seemed excited to be at our service. We had asked if they're were anyway we could be reseated to a table because we had a car seat with us and she immediately went to see what could be done. Unfortunately the only option was an outside table so we decided to make due and stay at our table. She was very apologetic for the inconvenience. My husband and I ordered two burgers and our daughter the kids minis and fries. We had also asked Katrina if she could grab us a little bowl of pickles for our daughter to snack on while waiting, and she was more than happy to do so. Our food came out shortly after taking our order she gave us everything we had asked for and returned regularly throughout the dinner to check on us and chat. Overall we had an extremely enjoyable dining experience and would defintly return for the amazing service and good food.

Service was very friendly and prompt. The food is average. Fish and chips for me, again very average and bordering vand De camp quality. Atmosphere is... eh.. chain restaurant-ish... price? Very inflated for a chain hamburger restaurant. .. Lesson learned, I won't be returning. 3 stars because the service was excellent, but the rest of the experience wasn't worth the cost.

I believe the only reason this place stays open is because it's located outside the mall. Our server was actually great but the food was disappointing. Presentation and taste. The booths and restaurant looked unkept and booths were not clean. It pretty much gives me the impression it suits more of the "mall crowd". Not worth it. There are better restaurants outside the mall and will never return here.

Hair in our food, terrible server, and they failed to fix the mess up that ruined one of our dishes. They didn't even take it off the bill after the manager came to visit and we told them we didn't want it remade. Very disappointed.

I'm not a burger girl at all, but I have to admit, my burger was excellent. I got the Three little piggy, bacon, pulled pork, more bacon on top of a burger smothered with sharp cheddar cheese. Perfection. My fiance ordered The Moonshiner. It was a burger with bacon, fried onions and blue cheese. This would have been great but the amount of blue cheese was unbearable. We tried scraping off as much as we could, but it had melted into the burger. Staff was very friendly and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall, I'd say give it a try. If a non burger eater like me can enjoy herself, so can you.

  • Jason E.

I have been here a few times and every time I come enjoy myself, it is what it is, a burger/sandwich joint. I don't come here expecting a super duper dinner or anything extraordinary. I was craving a good burger cooked to temperature (medium) and they succeeded. Cheap beers $2.50 for a 22oz. Bud hits the spot when devouring a large beef patty laced with all the fixins. It is always really dark in there so I could not tell you if it was clean or not, it seemed fine. The female bartender was so loud ,borderline obnoxious, I almost thru a french fry at her and I was 15 ft away. But if you have your buzz on she's exactly what you want to see and hear!!! I hate when people take places like this so seriously with there reviews, if it has a Key West/Jimmy Buffet theme how could you. Have you been to Key West? I guess not 3 stars is it, I will go back for a burger and a beer

We come here about every other week. We love the loaded potato chips for an app. Our drinks are always perfect. But best of all is our server. Her name is Nora and she always takes awesome care of us. We always request her to be our waitress. Our drinks never run empty all the food comes out cooked properly and in a timely fashion. On the rare occasion something is not correct she takes care of it quickly and efficiently. Next time you visit ask for Nora you will not be disappointed.

After an afternoon of prom dress shopping, our entire family was both hungry and tired, wanting a quick bite to eat we decided to pop into this establishment, then carry on with the shopping festivities. How little did we know. From the time we walked in the door to the time we left was just under two hours, and it took about an hour just for our food to arrive. The bad: our waitress was horrid. It took her forever just to get our drink order, and our glasses sat empty for over 15 minutes awaiting a refill, eventually one of the hosts came to get our refill order. The cause, per our waitress, was they had to wash glasses. Once our food came (including a salad) we had to ask her TWICE for silverware or napkins, salad just isn't a "finger food". The reason why we had to wait for silverware? You guessed it, they had to "wash it". Additionally we had to wait for condiments that were requested when we placed our order, going so far as to ask for them two additional times. The table next to us ordered their drinks three separate times before they finally got them, and Once their food arrived they faced a similar debacle with napkins and silverware. So overall the service was worse than terrible, and the bathrooms, while not filthy, were in a less than ideal condition. The good: Once the manager came around and found out about the service, he personally took care of us and ensured our cups stayed full. He attempted to comp is an app for a future visit, but after learning we were from out of town he comped us a desert. The food was good, with great flavor, although we could tell it sat for a few minutes before it finally came out. The verdict: We will likely try this place again, especially being so convenient to the mall, although it's by no means a first pick. Kudos to the manager for trying to improve what is a struggling location.

This place is a team effort in awful. From the server to the kitchen to management, this place is bad. You know we had the wrong server when we asked for a "Stella" and the waiter asked "is that a beer?" Duh Of course getting him to come back with the drink and to take our order was a challenge. After 20 minutes, he took our order without writing anything down and walked over to the next table, that had also been waiting while, and took their order without writing anything down. My wife and I promptly made an informal bet as to what will be wrong with our order. Another 25 minutes later, I got the wrong hamburger, there was no dressing for my side salad and worse yet, no silver ware. Another 15 minutes of hassle later, we got silver ware and salad dressing. Eventually, I got the right hamburger ........overdone, but there was no way I was sending it back, I'm hungry. The manager, seeing all this comes over and starts trying to chat us up. Rather than let us off the hook on the current meal, on Father's Day, he offer a "free" appetizer .......by the end of the month. At every point of contact, this was a failure for Cheeseburger in Paradise. This was awful as far as management style and training. Save yourself the aggravation, the food and atmosphere isn't that great

This place better pray the mall next door never closes because I swear this must be the reason why it's still open. Certainly not because of the food. First time I went last year was for a function and they had the nerve to serve me a shrimp taco that had 1 shrimp sliced in half!! Whyyyyyy? Their excuse for it being so pitiful is that I ordered the shrimp blackened instead of fried, which is the normal way they make it. Oh my bad. I didn't know I was supposed to make up the difference with breading. Anywhoo, I made the mistake of going again last weekend. In our attempt to not have to deal with the Dave and Buster's crowd for food (we had 2 boys with us), we decided to give it another shot. Huge mistake. We ordered chicken nachos. How can you mess up chicken nachos? Well they sure can. Dry, dry, dry.....did I say dry? Bland, disgusting, cold nachos. Mounds of lettuce and the chicken was, well, cold cuts. The 4 shreds we got anyway were cold cuts. A drizzle of sour cream to top it off. I asked the server for some salsa on the side because it was too dry. I got my 2 tablespoons of salsa for an extra 99cents. Yay me! Well I finally got my fried fish tacos which basically were big fish sticks on dry cabbage with a couple of diced tomatoes. No sauce no nothing. Oh, and the island rice the server told me was so delicious was just, ugh! I sent it back and got a cheeseburger. It was just ok. When your bun is twice the size of the burger, something ain't right. My bad. I should have just remembered how irritated I was the first time I went and carried myself somewhere else. No mas!

Cheeseburger in Paradise has such a fun environment! I love to watch throw beers across the bar. The sliders are very, very good. And who could forget to mention the amazing chocolate nachos! There's always plenty of music (sometimes live ) to keep your cheerful and the service has always been good.

barf. seriously fellow yelpers.....please....don't do it. don't read the okay reviews and risk it. it isn't worth your money or time. the staff is friendly and really enthusiastic but the food quality is just SO LOW. This chain needs to shut this location down.

Late night party of 8. 3 orders wrong, unsweetened tea came sweet twice, burger was cold, lettuce was soggy, fries were old and the salsa was gross. Should have stayed at the restaurant next door. I hope this isn't the norm for this place.

  • Rachel M.

I've been to this location twice, and both times the service was beyond bad. I read some of the other reviews just to see if my experiences were just a fluke, but clearly it is typical. Both times I was there, I was with my family and besides it taking forever to get drinks (we ended up going to the bar our selves to get soda/tea) even after we asked several times, but when the food came the orders were wrong. Unfortunately for us, we never saw a manager, perhaps he / she was hiding from all the angry customers...we weren't the only ones. I'd try another place close to the mall, there are lots and they're all better!

Went here with a large group of 16, and the staff was very accommodating. They had the table ready for us right on time. The staff was very friendly and kept our drinks full throughout the meal. The food also arrived quite quickly considering the size of our group and all of the orders were right. The food itself was okay, but we were not that impressed by it. They were pretty skimpy on the sauces- the guacamole burger had just a tiny taste of guacamole and the cheeseburger in paradise had just a tiny amount of bbq sauce so the pork seemed pretty dry. Also, the sides of cole slaw were so tiny they came in the same size container as the condiments. Fried pickles were quite tasty. They let us bring our own cake in, and they kept it in their walk in refrigerator for us while we ate. Then, they brought it out with candles in it and a knife for us to cut and serve the cake. Overall, service was on point and food was okay.

I was very disappointed, my husbands burger was awesome, and so was the kids Mac and cheese but everything else was pretty awful. I ordered the cob salad no tomatoes, and I shit you not, there was more cheese than lettuce. The lettuce that was on my salad was brown and wilted. I order it with no tomatoes and it looks like they made it with tomatoes (diced) then did a poor job of picking off the tomatoes, and covered it with more cheese to hide the mistake. There were a few tiny chunks of pineapple and two large lumps of borderline over ripe avocado that were so covered in cheese that I couldn't find until I bit into them... I would not consider the chicken pulled, more like prepackaged precooked grilled chicken. The salad sounded good when I read it on the menu but was very poorly excited... The midnight run drink was disgusting, sent it back right away. And the kids broccoli was old and tasted like it was over cooked in the microwave, then left out long enough to get really cold again.... So the take away from this is cheeseburger in paradise might be good for a burger and beer if you have no other option (skip the fries, the were no good either) but that's about it.

The service was slow and and forgetful. It took a while to get anything we asked for such as napkins, drink refills, and they completely forgot our to-go box. The food was, unbelievably, worse than the service. I ordered the paradise burger with pulled pork on it. Both the pork and the beef were bland and flavorless, definitely not worth the $13.99 price tag. My roommate received the hickory burger and ordered it medium rare. It was so raw in the center it was cold. Honestly, this place sucked.

I've been to this location a few times usually due to a birthday or big group family party. Our last visit was due to our cousin graduating high school and a huge section was reserved for us. My salad was awesome. I had a salad with shrimp, mango, greens - delicious - sorry I can't remember the name of it. Some of the apps got confusing. Extra apps came out (and instead of just comping it on a tab they said they had to take it back since it wouldn't be paid for....since it's wasted regardless, why not let people eat it?) - then we had another fried pickle app come out that was also unsolicited but the server didn't notice and it wasn't put on a tab... it was somewhat confusing. Maybe with so many people they just couldn't keep up. (For the 2nd one, my cousin thought I ordered it and vice versa...so we didn't realize until the end that no one did but no one was charged either...) Service was ok considering the amount of folks there. Salad was yummy. Apps were good. Will be back.

Cheeseburger in Paradise. Sometimes it is paradise, and other times, well, not so much. I've come back a few times recently with better experiences than I had at the beginning of 2014. About a month ago was the first time I came back in over a year. This was due to a coupon I received in my e-mail for a buy one burger, get one free. I received another one last week, which is why I was in again then. Let's start with the beginning in 2014. I had come in during the winter in 2014. It wasn't overly busy, but I wasn't surprised as there isn't a lot of activity that time of year, and it was a chilly day. So, I had ordered what I would normally get when I had been there, which was the guacamole bacon burger medium well. The burger was more like medium rare. It was sent back to the kitchen and re-made. On the re-make, it was cooked correctly. However, the burger actually turned me off because there was a lot of red dripping out of the burger. Ultimately, the dog got to have a good meal that night at home. The manager that was there that night apologized profusely and comped my meal that night. It was this experience as to why it was over a year before returning here. If I was rating solely based on this visit, it would have been one star. Fast forward to the current time. The few times I have come in within the past month or so were much better than in 2014. On both visits recently, I had the usual guacamole bacon burger. Both times the burger was cooked correctly (one time it was with chicken and the other was with beef). As always, the fries they have are good. The only complaint sometimes about the fries is that they are easily over-salted. I think it would be better to have the fries come out unsalted and then you can portion control the amount of salt, if any, that actually goes into the fries. Overall, on these last few visits, and considering my overall experience over the years with this place, I would give it an overall three stars. There just isn't enough extras for me to give a rating higher than that. If you're nearby looking for an inexpensive burger, this is not a bad place to come. The place has definitely improved and worth trying out.

What an awesome burger!!! I got the moonshiner burger with a side of that zesty sweet horseradish sauce and it was so good. It had bourbon glaze, thick cut bacon, delicious bleu cheese crumbles and sweet caramelized onions. The French fries were super good too! They have a coca cola free style machine so you can have any drink you can think of. I love the cherry sprite zero. That's my jam. Margaritas are yummy and they have 1.99$ ones too :) Great place for a great burger and our server Amber was the sweetest. Only downside (for me anyways) was my burger was just so greasy. It was dripping with grease.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Looks good. Nice and clean. Wait staff is nice so I assume the back-of-the house staff is too. The price is fair. "Frickles" (fried pickles) are good, but not great. Butter chip cut. Got an all-American burger for my entree with fries. Pretty good. I got the beef cooked medium, that's how I like my meat. The portion size was good. Overall I had a good experience. It was nothing special but the food wasn't bad. I may or may not come back, only time will tell.

Acceptable burgers, decent frozen drinks ( this is the Margaritaville joint). I ordered fried pickles and they were decent-but better can be had elsewhere. My friend commented that her burger was "too flavorful", which I can agree with it. It's like they kill it with seasonings.

Took one bite of the bacon egg burger & fell in love. As far as the burger is concerned this place is paradise. I will be back.

Stopped in at 9:30 on Sunday (they close at 10:00) and the place was nearly dead with the TV's all tuned in to the Sunday Night Football game and the volume turned up high. I had no problem being seated at a comfortable table (other than the loud football game) with a good view of the TV's. I opted for the bacon cheddar burger, medium rare. It was probably closer to rare with a red center, but oddly, that was only on half of it. The first half seemed just fine. Weird. Fries were cooked right, but too salty. A-OK. This chain where burgers meet sit down causal landed somewhere between "I've had better" and "I'm a fan."

This location of CIP did a great job during a recent visit. Right away, I felt all warm and fuzzy because they had the Stanley Cup Playoffs on several TVs. This is huge because as I've written many times: If I cannot trust you to show real sports on TV, I cannot trust you to build my dinner. What really did it for me though was the Aloha burger. Instead of throwing all the trimmings on (layer of onion, layer of pineapple, etc.) making for a sloppy burger, CIP actually diced up all the toppings into a nice little salad on top and it was phenomenal. Any time I can leave dinner NOT dropping with teriyaki sauce, I'm happy. Good job.

I was so disappointed in this place. The queso was warm velveeta it tasted disgusting, the salsa was so sweet I couldn't eat it. salsa is supposed to be hot not sweet! My husband got the BBQ plate he said it was good except the chicken tenders had WAY too much breading on them. I got a burger and it was nothing special at all, I expected it to be great but it wasn't at all. The fries where really good and the service was great. but never going back food was awful

We always pass by this place because it's located near lynnhaven mall. The interior is beachy so that was nice and I'm sure during the summer time it is appreciated. The waitress was nice and very helpful since it was my first eating there. The menu offered burgers, sandwiches, and tacos. The burgers were delicious and prepared just the way you like it. The drink menu is pretty large so I plan on coming back to try the other ones. Great burger joint and service we'll be back!

Me and my husband ordered the teriyaki wings, traditional burger, and the mushroom Swiss burger. The teriyaki wings were perfectly breaded with a crunch. They were so yummy. Traditional burger and the mushroom burger were huge. Definitely coming back.

We had been doing some shopping at Lynnhaven Mall early on a Friday evening and decided to stop in here for dinner. At 5:15, it was almost empty. Our server, Chayla, came right over and told us about the Happy Hour specials and the dinner specials. We both had the HH drinks, a Sangria for my wife and a blueberry mojito for me. Very tasty and good for the $4. My wife had the Cobb salad without the chicken and said it was really good. I had the mushroom-Swiss burger and loved it. The rolls are to die for - soft and lightly grilled and buttered. Chayla was a pleasure - very friendly, attentive and great to talk to.

CIP has never disappointed. Sorta shocked to see so many negative reviews. I am by no means a Jimmy Buffett fan, but I don't feel like you have to be to enjoy CIP. I have been going to CIP since it opened a few years back and I have never had a bad experience. The food and service have always been great! My wife and I sometimes go there during football season so she can see her Cowgirls play. On multiple occasions, the manager has been ultra accommodating to reposition TVs and change the channel to ensure that we do not miss any of the action. To me, that speaks volumes about the kind of people that work there. They want what's best for the customer, that's all you can ask for. Side note: I have hated blue cheese my entire life. The CIP buffalo wrap with blue cheese changed that, I am now in love. Definitely give that dish a chance the next time you stop in.

When I think gourmet cheese burger I think grade A beef, toppings that set the various burgers apart and side orders that compliment and even enhance the overall "All American Meal". This was definitely not that. The burger while ordered med-rare was definitely rare. And the flavor was by no means exceptional. I chose 3 stars because while the meal was palatable and filling it was by no means memorable. To their justice, the service was outstanding. But the dry (all you can eat) shoestring fries were boring and the burger simply fell short of what I envisioned from a restaurant with the name BURGER in it. If you are seeking a reasonably priced meal go for it but if your looking for something that appeals to a distinguishing palate I would recommend skipping them, it is no Paradise.

2/1/14 Prior to the management change, the food and service were great! Since the management change it's been disappointing. The tea is no longer sweet, the salad wasn't fresh, and my soup was lukewarm. They use to have the best blueberry tea but it was not sweet at all on this visit. I love the chicken gumbo which has another name now. The chicken in the gumbo is different than before and furthermore the soup was lukewarm. I took it home and ate it and it was still pretty good. Our server was okay but she was so busy entertaining her friends who were customers there that she was a little slack with our service. My husband and I have decided we will not be going back. Hopefully your experience will be better than ours. We use to frequent this place but not anymore -I'm sad to say

My favorite meal has always been a good cheeseburger and, over the years when I have relocated, one of my early priorities has been to begin the cheeseburger search. So when I recently moved to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia I started looking. After having a horrible meal at "the best cheeseburger place in Norfolk" a friend and I decided to give Cheeseburger in Paradise a try.........even though it is a chain. I didn't expect much because I had tried the Cheeseburger in Paradise in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina about 1 1/2 years ago and found it to be just okay. So imagine my surprise when my cheeseburger was wonderful. The meat was quality and it was cooked perfectly - medium. It was juicy and flavorful and I loved it. Not only that, having recently been diagnosed with celiac disease, I was delighted to learn they offer a very tasty gluten free bun. It wasn't a fluke. My friend's burger was perfect too and he's a cheeseburger lover too. (He had previously had a good experience here and that was the reason I agreed to go.). The service was good and I can't wait to go back.

We have been tightening our financial belt lately, for personal reasons. But we came here after church for the first time in years. So I thought I would post my experience here even though we aren't fans of chain restaurants. I know that I will get hammered by my fellow Yelper's, but here I go! I brought the kid here once, the restaurant was pretty empty, and I noticed the manager running around like crazy, so when I got home, I surfed the net to see what was up. After my research, we didn't return for a few years, but yesterday we came back. And the place was rocking it! They had their act together! My only complaint was they didn't have what I originally ordered, that's alright. But if you know me, you know that I'm indecisive, hubby was hungry and he did the only thing he could think of doing. He silently rolled his eyes. With all that said, our meal came out, no it wasn't outstanding by no means, but it was good. The wait staff was stellar! They worked as a team. That is what impressed me. They were so good that no one wanted for anything. And the menu was totally new as well. Being raised in a rural south eastern town, I saw pulled pork tacos. That was what I ordered, the waitress returned with the menu apologizing that they were out of pork, and that I needed to order something else. Oh no! Our table fell quiet. You could actually hear the crickets chirping. I quickly made my order and told our waitress that she should tell the kitchen that it was a good thing that I just got out of church, and I was feeling generous enough that I wasn't feeling demanding enough that I didn't send someone running to the Outer Banks in NC to get my piggy fix! So I ordered the fish tacos. I was in such a light hearted and happy mood! The kid ordered the fish and chips with a side of cole slaw, I had the fish tacos with a side of wedge salad, hubby had the moonshine burger. Hubby cleared his plate, while the kid and I brought half our lunch home. The greatest thing about our lunch? I didn't have to cook dinner that night! Score! I ended my wonderful day with pep in my step! I was doing the touch down dance that is done in American football! Yes, this post is silly and light hearted, but it gives my experience in a humorous way. So when you see this place, maybe you should stop by, not all national chains are bad.

My friend and I stopped by for lunch it was slow. Waitress was polite and timely. She was helpful in the end. The frikles were pretty good. Here comes the problem the back of the house was terrible. You could hear them fighting from the dinning room. The entree to a long time to get done. When it arrived the chicken sandwich was burnt and they tried to cover it up by putting a lot of cheese over. The manager removed the sandwich from the ticket and apologized.

We were seated and then ignored for twenty minutes on a weeknight. I ordered a salad with pulled chicken (which I had previously had and loved). They served me the same salad but with sliced deli chicken breast. I complained and the manager explained that the chicken is now "pulled" by a machine and offered to bring me a new salad with grilled chicken. TWENTY minutes later she arrives with the salad. My husband had finished eating so we took it to go. Very disappointing.

Went with the family while on vacation. Two adults, two kids. I got the fish tacos and a beer. My wife got the "Costa Rican Steak Wrap", my daughter got wings with the sauce on the side my son got the Mac n cheese. I can't imagine my fish tacos had any component that had ever seen the sea. There were three, and they were big, but they we're filled with the flavorless shredded lettuce that all chain restaurants have agreed to serve us. There was some animal matter that was white and flaky and had the texture of a fish, was the size of my pinky, and tasted like a packing peanut. The sauce was reminiscent of Elmer's glue (which I have eaten) and there was a crunchy substance that seemed like it had taken a few too many trips through the fry grease. When I bit down it crunched into something resembling burnt dirt. I sent it back, which I never do. I just asked for a cheeseburger. The server was very kind and asked if I would like another beer, even though happy hour was over. Of course I would! My daughter's wings came out with a sugary, syrupy sauce slathered on (not in the side). She ate as much as she could. My wife's steak wrap had nothing in common with Costa Rica. CR is my favorite place on the planet, and I realize they were just borrowing the name to go along with the laid back, tropical theme, but hey, I was hoping for something that would remind me of the good times I've had there. They were fine. My son said his Mac n cheese tasted weird. He ate about half of it. So after everyone has already eaten, my burger comes out. And it was a fine burger. Standard meat n cheese on a bun. But she forgot my beer, but said she would be right back with it. A few minutes later she brought the check. Of course there were 2 beers on it. When she came back to get my card, she had the beer in her hand which had obviously been sitting in the bar for 15 minutes and asked me if I still wanted it. Nope. I'll just pay and go. We head to the boardwalk because my son wanted to go to a certain magic shop on 19th street. We park the car, pay the meter, and start walking in when my son (he's 8) starts crying and says his stomach hurts. We go back to the car and go back to the condo. An hour later he is puking everywhere. Was it the Mac n cheese or the salt water he probably swallowed during 8 hours in the ocean. We will never know for sure. So yeah. We try to eat local and avoid chains, and I don't know why we drove out of our way to hit CIB. Lesson learned.

I was severely disappointed by our experience at Cheeseburger in Paradise. The hostess was rude, the service was terrible, the food wasn't hot, and the manager was unprofessional. It took us an hour to get our food and at least another 20 minutes to pay. I can understand if the place was packed, but it wasn't. I would not go to this location again, nor would I refer anyone else there either.

Very average experience. Ok. Nothing special. Waited for about 30 minutes which I guess is normal for a Saturday night. Appetizer pretzel logs were real good. I recommend those. Cheeseburgers.. not so much. Asked for mine medium and it turnend out really pink. Close to rare. Bun was also real soggy and they put shredded lettuce on it instead of bigger slices. Lots of options for booze which is always nice. Service could have been better. Took us a while just to get silverware. Just moved here, so I'll be looking at other places to go on the weekend. If you're just visiting, I would try somewhere else.

I am giving this place 3 stars because they always seem to screw something up. My wife picked up 2 dozen teriyaki wings one night and when she got home they were naked... Oops, where's the teriyaki? Another time we ordered a dozen wings to dine in and when we bit in they were raw. This aside, we love the wings & both times we were taken care of due to the mistakes. Tonight, my wife's onion straws were on my plate, she asked for no ham on her Hawaiian burger and they added ham and she asked for sautéed onions & they forgot them. The matter was resolved quickly but again, they messed up. At least this time it wasn't raw food. The food itself is always good (when they get the right order). The chocolate nachos are the bomb!!! The fried pickles are ok, burgers good, El Cubano is not to bad and the wings as I said before are delicious (teriyaki are my favorite but the the garlic ginger wings are also fantastic). If you like to drink, try the pomegranate mojito! It's freaking awesome! This place has good food and good service. The servers have always been nice and the bartenders were great. Our server tonight was Bethany. She was great. She was quick, tentative and absolutely adorable... a real pleasure. If this place could just get an order right it would be a 4 or 5 star easily.

This place was okay. Just okay. We were in town just for the day and friends met us here for drinks. Really? A chain for drinks? Not usually my thing....but I took their word for it and prayed they would be good. We all got something different. They said the torched cherry pina colada was good...also the torched cherry mojito. The 3 G's rita had awesome presentation. I had the sunken treasure margarita...it was garnished with a cheeseburger gummy. Nice touch...decent drink. My next drink was the Caribbean Rita. SKIP IT. Nothing Caribbean about this too sweet drink. It left me craving water! We had a great waitress who told us what not to order, love when they know better than to let us waste our money on a crappy drink. Thanks for that! Great atmosphere...and, of course, great music!

You are just kidding, right? I should have ran for the hills when I seen a little boy making a "WTF" face to his french fries. The fried pickles are not good, the avocado burger is trash, like literally took a mouse bite of it and wasted the entire plate. Is this grade Z beef, a mixture of tofu, soy, rubberbands and beef flavoring? They warmed it up in the microwave nicely When the waitress came around seconds after delivering my order (jordan, who was really nice btw) and asked how everything was, I told her it was awful and could I please have the check. Nothing was removed or discounted from the bill. -Clearly I was not satisfied with my meal, not a free dessert, free french fry, free side dipping sauce on your next visit was offered. Cheeseburgers on Elm Street is their new name

We recently went for burgers and drinks. We both ended with food poisoning! The hamburger had not taste. Pretty bad. I will not go there again. The drink that I had ordered was okay. Had to send it back! I will not go back. Plus we ended up with stomach aches and ruined are evening!

Sam, our waiter, was great! He's a fun guy! I asked for his recommendation since I have never been here before and I'm glad I took in his suggestion. I ordered the salmon (I know, defeats the purpose of a burger joint). But it came out really good! And if you like a sweet drink, the C.I.P. cocktail will do it. It makes me feel like a kid again. If you're trying to get drunk, you won't off of this cocktail. It's sweet, big, and delicious! We girls sure do like our pretty drinks.

Yes, I love this place. I come here every chance I get...and EVERY single time I go to VA Beach. The atmosphere is amazing. I love the bar! The bartenders rock and watching them throw mugs of beer with mere coasters as lids blows my mind.. The DRINKSSSS. YUM. The C.I.P. is the stuff my dreams are made of... They all have cute little fruit figures :) Love those little sunglass pins. The burgers are GREAT and so are the fries. A burger, fries and a C.I.P or two or three makes for a great dinner.

Fail! Epic fail this restaraunt is. The prices range 7 to 10. The service is slow, drinks expensive as all bloody hell, and they messed up my order horribly. Worng side dish, and they forgot the guacamole on my guacamole bacon burger. But the worst part is the meat in the burgers. There is something very off about it. Really spongey and bland. Bottom line, don't go. I don't hand out too many 1 stars but this place desearves it.

Very Colorful, comfortable and cozy. Cheeseburger in Paradise was a great pick for a nice relaxing solo lunch. Greeted by smiling faces and a compliment on my dangling earrings, I didn't feel so bad eating alone. The mini crab cakes were seasoned well, the mango drink was pretty tasty but I could barely taste the good stuff. I saw a lot of sweet potato fries, I stayed clear of those tho. The menu is a bit prices for my pockets however, this is a great first date spot.

The Cheesburger I received was cooked like a hocky puck. It was tasteless. The toppings were skimpy and not good. The french fries were so thin they instantly get cold and taste like fried toothpicks. I will never eat here again.

I had heard good things about this place, and was looking forward to going. When we arrived, the atmosphere seemed to be on point. They have live music, which is something I enjoy and don't see often enough. However, once we got seated everything went down hill. The live performance was much too loud for both a restaurant and the style of music. Don't get me wrong, I like loud music, but not all music sounds good loud. Besides, one should not have to shout to have a dinner conversation. Back to the restaurant, with paradise in the name, one invisions island themed foods, not the case. The menu was uninspired with only a few basic burger choices that can be found at any burger joint and other standard items. The quality was not up to paradise standards either. It's just another mediocre chain not worth the stop.

prime kobe burger -- nice flavor and tender. ordered it medium, but they cooked it medium well. didn't like the shredded lettuce. why cant they use lettuce leaves rather than shredded -- that would be less messy (a bit nit-picky i know). there was nothing special but the beef...which is probably okay because it highlighted the flavor of the kobe and it's toppings didn't take away from that. barbeque cheddar burger -- a bit salty and really not enough barbeque flavor..or any flavor for that matter. didn't enjoy it as much as i was hoping. again ordered medium and cooked medium well, perhaps making the beef less interesting. fries are skinny -- i like that, but there was nothing special about the fries. onion strings weren't good, but they are just that...strings. sliced so thin and battered, they tasted liked the frying grease. not a single flavor of onion. chocolate milkshake wasn't that great. did enjoy the vanilla coke ;) LoL that coke machine with all it's flavors -- so fun. the staff was friendly....though not seeming very efficient. i ordered the onion strings with my burger, but got fries on the plate. was given my plate by another server, asked for the correct order of onion strings as the side, which i got. then when our assigned server came she wondered where i got the strings (like i ordered it behind her back?) and who gave them to me. i told her i ordered the strings not the fries and she said...OH YEAH! another girl was training a new hire and she just kept zipping around doing all the work hardly letting him do things....rather than going slowly and letting him have a go at some of the tasks. leaving him behind. just seemed odd. ANYWAY. for a gourmet burger chain, it was just alright. nothing spectacular or worth remembering. i'm surprised it gets as busy as it does --- we've driven by other nights and there are loads of people waiting outside. i'm sure people enjoy this place, but i'm not one of them and wouldn't choose to go back for a meal.

I visited Cheeseburger in Paradise a few days ago on my vacation to Virginia Beach. It is located in the vicinity of Lynnhaven Mall. When I walked in I noticed the whole surf theme that they had. It reminded me of a place called, "Islands" that they have in the southern California area. I ordered the mini hamburgers or "sliders" with some french fries and a coke. The sliders were excellent. I heard that they tasted better than White Castle, a place that I have never visited yet. The sliders were a nice small size. The bun was really soft and tasty. I love bite size sliders and these did not disappoint. They also come with cheese and small diced onions. I'm craving some right now! The fries are also good as well. They were hot and tasted fresh. I recommend this place to anyone that's looking for some good food. They've also got a nice menu for drinks so you can consume some alcohol. These place is great and I'll be sure to visit again when I'm in town.

I think I like Cheeseburger in Paradise less for the food but more for the vibe. Don't get me wrong, the food is great. Obviously they've got a wide variety of burgers, but also some seafood, sandwiches and other American/Caribbean fare. But Cheeseburger is a nice place to hang out. I find myself going here for drinks. It has a chill island vibe, tasty libations, friendly bartenders AND they make little faces out of the fruit they put in your drinks! Really--they put little sunglasses on your pineapple! They are true artists of the fruit. Cheeseburger has the perfect music to set your mood. Jimmy Buffet, of course, is in regular rotation, along with other classic rock, reggae and R&B songs. They also have awesome live bands like local reggae favorite Nature's Child. It's not on the beach, but Cheeseburger creates the perfect beach vibe for you to kick back and have a good time.

We had so much fun there last night! Sat at the bar, and the bartenders were all super friendly and fun. Loved how they throw those beer mugs around! The food was good... I ordered the tilapia & shrimp and substituted the rice for extra broccoli... there was no problem, no extra charge, and the food was delish. Also had the bartender make a mojito for me "not-so-sweet" and she made it perfect! My husband got a burger and he loved it. Fun atmosphere, great live music, awesome service!

Our server was great. Very friendly. We ordered the Triple D appetizer, with queso, guacamole and crab and spinach dip. The guacamole was bland, the queso was good and my husband really liked the crab dip (I don't care for seafood). I ordered the guacamole bacon burger, which sounds absolutely amazing, but it was just average. I ordered it before I tried the guacamole in the appetizer. I imagine the bland guac is why it didn't taste quite as spectacular as I expected it to. The onion strings were a great sub for fries. There's a lot of variety on the drink menu. I wouldn't mind going back without the kids sometime to sample a few. :)

We were greeted promptly and seated immediately with no wait time on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm. We started off with the Baja Burger, and the Good Egg Burger. When our food was brought out the Baja Burger was cooked as ordered and had a great taste to it. The Good Egg Burger had the fried egg just thrown on the side which didn't even cover the burger. I asked for the burger to be remade and for it not to be just thrown together as if this was a cheap burger joint. The burger was remade and was back at our table within 5 minutes. Summary: good gourmet burgers, good service, and even though we got a cook that didn't take pride in his job, a manager came over to make sure the problem was corrected. This isn't going to be a weekly, or even a monthly place for me... Maybe once in every 6 months place. I have found my $ stretches further @ Red Robin for gourmet burgers.

I was invited here to "meat" up with friends and was a bit concerned. I'm a vegetarian, what the heck am I going to eat at a burger joint? I was in for a surprise. They have one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. It's one of the few restaurants that offers a veggie burger that is not a frozen processed textured protein equivalent to Morningstar Farms or Gardenburger that you find in the grocery store. Cheeseburger in Paradise's veggie burgers are made of fresh ingredients (my guess is rice, veggies, grains), and they were thick and hearty. What a treat. And you can order any burger on the menu and substitute a veggie patty. I ordered sweet potato fries as well and they were awesome. I am not big on chains and prefer locally-owned restaurants. I especially am not into chains with cheesy island themes. Blue drinks and island music and that touristy facade is not my thing. So it says a lot about the food that I would give this restaurant 4 stars. I realize many people enjoy that kind of over-the-top island theme, so I'm taking that into account when I recommend it. Overall, I had a great experience. And if you are looking for an American restaurant that will please everyone in your group, this is a safe bet.

Very good! Our server Morgan was so friendly and helpful! She recommended the grilled cheese burger & it was yummy. My husband had the bacon burger, also good. The decor was so fun!

The most recent trip I made here was last night and I have to admit my burger was excellent. I have been to Cheesebuger in Paradise in the past and have left pissed but this time rocked. They actually filter there water here, it tastes excellent. You may be thinking water is water, however I have drank water at places where I really thought they got the water out of the toilet. The service and staff were adaquate, but it didn't seem like they cared about much but getting that check and whatnot, but hey get your grind on.

Hubby and I came here for dinner one evening while my friends band was playing a show. We each had one mixed drink (which were tasty, and pretty) but lacked the "kick" I expected for my 8.00. We ordered wings which were just ok, they goofed our order and brought the wrong kind but they were good enough to bring us an order of the right kind. The cheeseburger (which we split) was disappointing. The saddest thing was, we split the entree and the bill was still 65.00 bright spot? service was good, atmosphere was cool and Duchess Wilder band provided good music

If you're looking for a fun place to go with the girls for some fruity cocktails to start off the evening, then this is it. If it's good food you're looking for, keep looking. They have a large drink menu of tasty sounding mixed concoctions, and a decent selection of beers for the guys (The mango peach mojito was declared "too girly" for my man). Drink prices average 5-7 dollars for cocktails, and 3-5 for beers. The food seemed a bit bland and overpriced, typical big chain restaurant fare. The menu descriptions sounded waaay better than the food actually tasted, but some of the appetizers were ok (chips and dip). PROS: casual atmosphere, kid friendly, great drink menu, and lot's of Jimmy Buffet songs to set the mood. CONS: overpriced mediocre food So...come for the drinks, but eat elsewhere.

This was my first time there. I came in around 9pm on a Tuesday night with my husband and another guy friend. The place itself had extremely loud noise from the jets flying over head. They do stop around 10pm I believe. The place is a total burger joint (hence the name,) so if you don't eat fancy burgers, then this place is probably not for you. I'm more of a basic burger kind of gal, just some buns, beef, and ketchup. They do offer some wings and there's a little section of "chef's specialties" or something. I chose from the chef's specialty section. I opt for the tilapia and shrimp. I substituted the broccoli and teriyaki with fries and asked for teriyaki sauce on the side. It comes with some kind of rice pilaf and an avocado salsa thing which looks more like wasabi to me. I didn't try it. I did like the fish and dish in general. There were like three pieces of shrimp only though. Overall, the dish was good. I also tried their Twisted Turtle drink. It was alright. I wanted something more sweetly and I thought it came with a bunch of pineapple chunks...but it only came with one and it was pretty lethal. I guess the pineapples sits and soaks up in whatever rum or vodka and then thrown into your drinks.

Came here with the family for the first time. I had BBQ chicken salad but without the BBQ sauce. I also changed some other stuff about the salad making it taste very good. We also had the mojitos as they were having a happy hour special at the time. The Mojitos were very tasty and I would definitely order those again. The place is very similar to a applebees but maybe a couple dollars more expensive. I don't know if I would come back but maybe if we were in the area.

A nice place to meet with friends. They have a wide variety of mixed drinks and beer, which is nice for a group coming out. The food was really great. I highly recommend the fried pickles or onion strings to start your meal off. The staff are very friendly and the service is good. A must stop for anyone in Virginia Beach.

Tried C in P for lunch today - not bad! The service was good, the burger tasty, and the fries AMAZING. Love those fries. I didn't try any bar drinks, though they looked intriguing, as did dessert. I'd try it again - enjoyable!

This is a great destress-or after work to get some appetizers and some DRINKS...with the weather being nice...get a table outside. Order the Key Lime Blendable Drink. It is served in martini glass and has graham cracker on rim. (It's sweet like a dessert). Also get the fried shrimp appetizer! It is delicious! Won't be disappointed and the staff is fun to hang out with too.

We went last week for a early dinner. The food was okay however the service was great! Since we went early it was pretty quiet though it looked like a fun place to go for happy hour. Didn't drink however they looked yummy! I would try it again for happy hour/drinks/appetizers.

I was expecting the best burger in town...and was sorely disappointed. The meat was over processed, very dry, and bland to boot. The sweet potato chips were good and the service was decent. I have tried this place twice with the same results. I will not be returning.

Cheeseburger in Paradise??? More like Cheeseburger in Limbo. The time we went was a long long time ago and it was an extremely unpleasant experience. We were ignored and waited for our food for almost an hour. So after catching an afternoon movie at the Lynnhaven theater we we're hungry and didn't know where to go. It eventually came down to either Cheeseburger in Paradise or Red Robin (in Greenbrier). We decided that enough time had passed since our last terrible experience we decided to give it a go, and what a mistake, we should of just waited out the trip to Red Robin despite our growling stomachs. We were welcomed by a hostess and were seated quickly at a table that seemed to be out of place. We were in the middle of the flow and way too close for comfort to other tables and boothes so we asked to be changed to a more private booth. I ordered a cocktail, which sounded and looked delicious but was anything but. I am a beer person and occasionally order a cocktail but was really looking forward to this drink. When it came I couldn't wait to quelch my thirst. After my first sip I think I got diabetes. Wow was it super sweet so I mixed it more and and YOWZA!! I don't know what it was but it was like drinking up liquid candy, needless to say I didn't finish it. I don't remember the name only that it was blue, had cocktail in the name and was SUPPOSED to all kinds of alcohol, not a rubber candy cheeseburger in it, literally a cheeseburger candy was in it. Moving on..... I ordered the Baja Burger which was "suppose" to come with avocado and salsa. When it came it only looked good. I opened the burger and barely a slice of avocado and teaspoonful of salsa. Under my fries, which I think were the bottom of the barrel kind, you know which kind, the little short, burnt, crispy kind, i found some more avocado. REALLY??? I guess it took too much effort to get the piece of avocado that fell out to my barely there fries. Wow it was such a crappy experience and apologize but have no other way to put it. SO if want sub-par burgers and overly sweetened drinks then by al means waste your money and Cheeseburger in Paradise but I know a chic who more common sense then to go back a 3rd time. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Come on Jimmy Buffet, I like your music but your restaurants could use a little more attention.

We were a party of 6 without reservations. Had no problem getting seated at around 5:45 pm on a Thursday night. Sat near the bar and restroom entrance. Food was ok, must be a fairly new menu. We tried the new Buffalo Popcorn Shrimp appetizer and everyone seemed to like it. Daughter got a free ice cream and birthday song because it was her birthday. Atmosphere was nice and the service was outstanding! Never had to ask for anything. Great experience overall. My daughters really like this place.

The food is decent, nothing extraordinary. I had a nice experience there when my cheeseburger was not as cooked as I had asked - twice. I said that I ended up not wanting it at all. They took it back, and then ended up giving it to me again - perfect. And, also gave us a shot of tequilla - for free. The service is great and so is the atmosphere. Very beachy feeling.

Food is average but inexpensive. They have good mixed drinks and my favorite thing there are the "Frickles" (fried pickles. If you have kids, this place is kid friendly. They have crayons, kid menus, plastic sunglasses and balloons for children.

I've been to this place a couple of times now and each experience has been pretty average. The burgers here are good and it's one of my favorite places to go for milkshakes. However, don't go there for the alcoholic drinks. They have liquor quantity restrictions so their drinks only have 1 shot in it. If you want a double you have to order an extra shot on the side. This gets pretty expensive pretty quick. The last time I was here ordered a mojito and wow, was it limey! There was more lime juice than anything in it. You could barely taste the mint. One of the good things about this place is that the waitresses are really nice. My waitress that day had the bartender remix it. Much better the second time around. Overall, I'd come again. It's a nice, relaxed place to hang out with friends.

What's not to love about Cheeseburger In Paradise? They have positively nailed the sports bar concept. I stopped in to pick up dinner to go and the atmosphere was so friendly and laid back, I wanted to stay around for a couple of beers. The menu goes above and beyond what you'd expect at a typical burger joint and has numerous inventive selections. I ordered the thai burger with peanut sauce and it was amazingly good. The food is very high quality, and the wait staff was highly responsive and friendly. I want to go back here to hang out for a while and try everything else on the menu.

After visiting one of the most dreadful places in the universe, the mall, I was starving and not in the mood for food court crap, so as my family and I were on our way out of the complex, we stumbled upon Cheeseburger in Paradise. What the Hell, why not.. We decide to give it a whirl. Upon entering we were greeted by a dude who promptly seated us, this place has a cool tiki vibe going on which I thought was a little weird for a burger joint, but whatever, who am I to judge the decor people choose for their restaurants. At least it was clean. There is a bar situated in the middle of the restaurant that offers pretty great drink specials. I went for a mojito that was pretty delicious. The food was average.. nothing special because the majority of the menu was burgers and appetizers. I had the fried pickles, or "Frickles" as they refer to them and a turkey avocado wrap. It was decent. Nothing to rave about. My husband had a salad, which was sub-par. I don't think he even ended up finishing it. My son was unusually cranky, so we didn't spend too much time here so all I can really say about this place is that the service is good, food is decent and its clean. I don't know if I will ever actually plan to come back here again, but it satisfied my famished stomach and didn't put a huge dent in our wallet.
